Whether they drive in with parents, ride the bus, or visit with a friend, Sunday School classes are filled with children who come from various backgrounds. The values they learn at home and in school can determine how they behave at church. Children can have positive, life-changing experiences in a Sunday School classroom that has structure, consistency, and creativity. Helpful discipline techniques and a resourceful training tool can transform a chaotic Sunday School class into a learning environment that will impact a child’s life for eternity.

Most children’s ministries realize the importance of spiritual growth after salvation. All would agree that eternal security, baptism, church attendance, daily Bible reading, witnessing, prayer, and giving are all necessary for a young convert to be firmly grounded in the faith. However, most churches do not see growth in their young converts. The reason for this is that most ministries pride themselves on being organized in this area, however the vast majority are not organized at all. In this class learn how to organize for growth after salvation.

Anyone who works with children and teens in any ministry capacity need to know how to identify children who are being mistreated, why abuse and molestation is so devastating, and what can be done to prevent long term problems. Most importantly, Christian workers need to know how to minister to these young people in a way that will lead them to the Great Healer of human hearts. Part one will address what it is, why it happens and what it looks like. In part two we will discuss the aftermath of abuse and how to handle it as well as specific ways workers can facilitate healing. We will be using a PowerPoint presentation and reproducible classroom handouts. Women who attend BOTH part one and two will receive a copy of the booklet "Why Me?"

Workshop Livestreamed Simply regurgitating facts about a topic or listing dates and names on a quiz or test used to be considered effective testing. However, research has proved that this type of academic assessment is not nearly as insightful as narrative writing. Regardless of the academic area, writing can be a revealer of a student's depth of knowledge about a topic. This session will highlight the "storytelling" technique that can be employed to gain a much clearer picture of what a young person really knows about a particular topic.
