If you're interested in why FBCM does adult Bible studies the way we do, you'll learn why in this workshop. Even though each church does ministry in a unique, God-ordained context, every church leader wants to honor God by providing effective ministry within the local church. But sometimes, what worked in one church won’t work in every church. Focusing on core values derived from God’s Word instead of learning what programs worked in another church can help church leaders ask the right questions about offering effective ministry, particularly in the area of a church’s Sunday School ministry for adults.

There are reasons some churches grow and others struggle to do so. This workshop will focus on practical—rather than spiritual—factors linked to church growth. Most pastors will embrace several of the helpful ideas, strategies, and practices presented.

This session covers the highlights from a 45-page workbook. Sunday School is neither dead nor dying. It just needs what it once had! It is the details that make a difference. You cannot attain a #1 Dream, with a #6 Team, but you can with a #1 Team! The leaders see ahead, plan ahead, and take action ahead! In addition you will receive a 23 page booklet entitled, Words For Ministry.

Often depression is treated as always being sinful, but, the fact is that depression is frequently a struggle even for those who are walking in step with the Lord. Bible examples abound of God's choicest servants being overcome by the emotional prison of depression. This session will seek to give a biblical overview of when depression is sin, when it is a "normal" part of life, and how to survive and thrive through depression's grasp.

Having served as an associate pastor for 19 years, I would like to help other assistants by outlining a few things they could do to help them be better assistants to the pastor, education directors, music directors or any type of paid assistant to the pastor. A second man exists to do nothing but to be the arms and legs of the pastor. A pastor is called by the church. An assistant pastor is hired only by the pastor.

"No man lives and dies unto himself." We could also certainly say the same concerning the pastorate. God's requirement of us as shepherds is that we serve the flock by leading by faith. This workshop will be just as much a roundtable discussion as it will be a testimony of God's goodness to us through the mountains and valleys of serving Him. What has God done in your congregation to prove Himself faithful? What can you learn from God's work in other men who are experiencing the same problems as you are? Come prepared to engage for the edification of all.

God’s call upon the pastoral leadership of the church mandates the heart of a shepherd. Whether you serve on pastoral staff or volunteer to help the pastoral office fulfill its role among the sheep, how you administrate the day-to-day affairs of the church body has a profound effect on the spiritual health of the membership. Join us for this discussion of Bible principles that give us the framework for church administration and leadership in the modern era.

Some pastors are called to plant churches, others to stay the course, and still others to turn the herd. The focus of this session is not on affecting change, but on restoring biblical purpose in ministries/churches who have loosed the moorings and are drifting in doctrine and practice. Dave Martin will speak from the experience of pastoring three churches in three different states, each with unique but related circumstances. The emphasis will not only be on experiences and challenges but on biblical principles of leadership used of God to solidify and direct a wayward ministry.

No one should be more interested and invested in the church of tomorrow than the church of today. With the modern church movement evolving and more unstable than ever before, it is imperative that we train the next generation by working together creatively, yet without compromise. As the Apostle Paul mentored Timothy, we need to understand the importance of assisting our future leaders in reaching a changing world with the unchanging Word.
