Charles Shoemaker began life in the Chicago area, converted to Christ at the age of eight because gospel-preaching churches were focused on children’s ministry. After being called to preach at 16, he earned a Bible Diploma from the Institute of Biblical Studies of Liberty University. He has earned degrees (Ed.D., M.A.) from educational institutions, including a D.D. from Midwestern Baptist College. He served as the Admin. Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church and President of their college for 15 years. Dr. Shoemaker is a frequent speaker among church leadership conferences, and he currently serves as the President of Church Planting America--a missions agency promoting church planting in the U.S. and throughout the world. He and his wife, Sharon, have been married for 45 years and reside in Jacksonville, Florida. They have two daughters and two sons-in-law (all in full-time ministry) and six grandchildren.
