With over half of the world’s languages still lacking even one verse of Scripture in them, there is much for us to do in the area of Bible Translation. This year, First Baptist Church of Milford launched the FirstBible School of Translation to address this aspect of the Great Commission. FBST is a 90-credit graduate program designed to equip men and women to translate the Bible into either written or unwritten languages. In this workshop you will discover three, cornerstone principles that must be incorporated if we are to translate Scripture according to the Word.

Opening the 10/40 Window is an exciting curriculum written by firstBible International to teach children about Unreached People groups in the 10/40 Window. The sessions will be a demonstration of how to present the curriculum in a classroom context. The curriculum is based on the Pashtun people of Afghanistan. During the first hour, we will introduce the Pashtun people, explore their geography, and learn about their religion. Each individual lesson is informative, interactive, and ends with a biblical worldview. The second hour we will learn about their culture and language. The culmination of the curriculum is called Language Day, giving the students an opportunity to share what they have learned with other students, teachers, administration, and parents. Over the past five years, we have been teaching this curriculum as a pilot program to the elementary students at our school (Milford Christian Academy). It has been greatly accepted and has motivated teachers and students alike to continue learning about their people group, actively praying for them. If there is one element you could add to your children’s ministry that would train biblical, mission-minded students for all levels of ministry, Opening the 10/40 Window would be it!

Anyone who works with children and teens in any ministry capacity need to know how to identify children who are being mistreated, why abuse and molestation is so devastating, and what can be done to prevent long term problems. Most importantly, Christian workers need to know how to minister to these young people in a way that will lead them to the Great Healer of human hearts. Part one will address what it is, why it happens and what it looks like. In part two we will discuss the aftermath of abuse and how to handle it as well as specific ways workers can facilitate healing. We will be using a PowerPoint presentation and reproducible classroom handouts. Women who attend BOTH part one and two will receive a copy of the booklet "Why Me?"

Learn what confuses children, terms and phrases that should be avoided, and how to be in tune to know when a child is being drawn by the Holy Spirit.

Having served as an associate pastor for 19 years, I would like to help other assistants by outlining a few things they could do to help them be better assistants to the pastor, education directors, music directors or any type of paid assistant to the pastor. A second man exists to do nothing but to be the arms and legs of the pastor. A pastor is called by the church. An assistant pastor is hired only by the pastor.
